The IQT Nordics conference is set to spotlight Giovanna Tancredi, a Senior Researcher at Chalmers University of Technology and a pivotal figure in advancing quantum computing through her leadership in developing large-scale superconducting quantum processors. Additionally, as a co-founder of ScalinQ, Tancredi is at the forefront of the commercialization of cryogenic hardware for quantum computing, marking significant strides toward bringing quantum technologies from the lab to the marketplace.

Tancredi’s journey in the quantum field began with her PhD work at Royal Holloway University of London (RHUL), where she specialized in superconducting devices. Her postdoctoral tenure at RHUL and subsequent work at the University of Oxford, under the guidance of Dr. Peter Leek, focused on the scaling up of superconducting qubits. This foundational experience has been crucial in her pursuit of developing quantum computing technologies.

Since joining Chalmers University of Technology in 2018, Tancredi has been instrumental in propelling the quantum computing group towards ambitious milestones, including realizing a 100-qubit quantum processor and demonstrating quantum advantage. Her leadership emphasizes the technical achievements in quantum computing and highlights the collaborative efforts required to push the boundaries of what is currently achievable in quantum research.

At the IQT Nordics conference, Giovanna Tancredi is anticipated to share her insights into the challenges and advancements in superconducting quantum processors. Her presentation will likely cover the cutting-edge research conducted at Chalmers University, the innovative solutions developed by ScalinQ, and the broader implications of these advancements for the field of quantum computing. Attendees can expect to gain a deeper understanding of the state-of-the-art cryogenic hardware and the steps towards achieving quantum advantage with large-scale quantum processors.
