Rob Stockill is slated to participate as a speaker at the upcoming IQT Nordics Conference, scheduled for June. As the Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of QphoX, Rob is at the forefront of the quantum technology industry, pioneering innovations in quantum communications and computing hardware.

Rob’s academic journey, which began with a Ph.D. in quantum optics from the University of Cambridge, laid a robust foundation for his career. During his doctoral research, he achieved a record-high rate of entanglement distribution between remote qubits, a pivotal accomplishment in quantum communication. His expertise deepened with a Marie-Curie postdoctoral fellowship at TU Delft, where he engaged in groundbreaking microwave-to-optical transduction experiments. These experiments were crucial in the foundational research that led to the establishment of QphoX in 2021.

At QphoX, Rob leads the development of essential hardware designed to scale quantum computers. This includes cutting-edge optical-frequency qubit control and readout systems and optical quantum interconnects that promise to revolutionize how quantum information is transmitted and processed. His work aims to address some of the most challenging barriers in quantum technology, pushing the envelope on the scalability and practical application of quantum computing systems.

Attendees of the IQT Nordics Conference can anticipate insightful discussions from Rob. His presentation will focus on the latest advancements in quantum technology hardware and the potential impacts these technologies may have on the field. It will not only delve into the technical aspects but also explore the broader implications of these developments for the quantum technology landscape.
