By IQT News posted 12 Apr 2021

(HPCWire) Martin Weides, Professor of Quantum Technologies at the James Watt School of Engineering, University of Glasgow (U.K.) will take up the newly created Consultant Technical Director position at Oxford Instruments NanoScience, alongside his University role. With expertise in quantum information processing and qubit systems, Martin will help drive the product roadmap in both quantum computing and physical sciences as Oxford Instruments NanoScience continues to innovate and lead in these markets.
Weides studied Physics at the University of Cologne and received his PhD in Physics from the same institution in 2006 for experimental research on superconducting spintronics. He continued working on cryogenic quantum technologies with postdoctoral positions at the Research Centre Juelich, the University of California at Santa Barbara and the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Following positions at the University of Mainz and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology he is now leading the Quantum Circuit Group at the University of Glasgow to advance quantum computing with nanostructured electronic circuits.
Oxford Instruments NanoScience designs, supplies and supports market-leading research tools that enable quantum technologies, new materials and device development in the physical sciences. Our tools support research down to the atomic scale through creation of high performance, cryogen-free low temperature and magnetic environments, based upon our core technologies in low and ultra-low temperatures, high magnetic fields and system integration, with ever-increasing levels of experimental and measurement readiness. Oxford Instruments NanoScience is a part of the Oxford Instruments plc group.
