In April 2024, the IQT The Hague Conference is set to feature Kimberley Brook, an expert in fostering the development of high-growth deep technology businesses. As the Director of SETsquared Bristol, an inclusive incubator at the University of Bristol that empowers entrepreneurs in the technology sector, Brook brings valuable insights into the commercialization and development of emerging technologies, including quantum technology. Brook is also the Head of Enterprise Programmes at SETsquared Bristol.

Brook’s journey in supporting deep technology ventures began in 2016 at the Quantum Technology Enterprise Centre, where she trained entrepreneurs. This experience gave her a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in commercializing quantum and other advanced technologies.

At SETsquared Bristol, Brook leads an incubator program that assists entrepreneurs in realizing their ambitions for their technology businesses. This program is critical in the current technology landscape, where support and guidance can make a significant difference in innovative ventures’ successful launch and growth.

Brook and her team also play a vital role outside the incubation environment. They support students, researchers, and the general public on their journey to commercialize new disruptive technologies. This is achieved through bespoke training initiatives designed to inspire future entrepreneurs, facilitate the ideation process, and support new venture creation. These initiatives are essential in cultivating an environment where innovative ideas can flourish and transform into viable businesses.

At the IQT The Hague conference, Kimberley Brook is expected to share insights into nurturing and supporting technology startups, particularly those in the quantum technology sector. Her presentation will likely cover strategies for successful entrepreneurship in deep technology, the challenges of commercializing emerging technologies, and the importance of creating an inclusive and supportive ecosystem for innovation.
