The IQT Nordics conference, set to explore the frontier of quantum technology and other transformative technologies, will feature Ulf Öhlander, Program Manager for Transformative Technologies at Vinnova, the Swedish Agency for Innovation. With an illustrious 18-year tenure at Vinnova, Öhlander brings a wealth of experience from various innovation-driven projects ranging from competence centers and cutting-edge ICT to initiatives fostering innovation among young people in suburban environments and from support for startups to strategic innovation programs that bridge the gap between large and small companies.

Currently focusing on quantum technologies, immersive technologies, synthetic biology, and pseudomorph AI, Öhlander’s work drives Sweden’s innovation landscape forward. His expertise is grounded in a robust academic background, holding a Ph.D. in Physics from KTH Physics II and a M.Sc. Degree in Electrical Engineering from KTH Royal Institute of Technology. This foundation has enabled him to contribute significantly to the development and commercialization of high-tech solutions in Sweden, both in his roles in the private sector, including sales, marketing, and innovation development at startups such as Wavium AB, Photonyx AB, and Proximion AB, and in his earlier career as a product manager, developer, and research engineer at Ericsson AB, and as a research project leader at the Institute of Microelectronics (Electrum).

At the IQT Nordics conference, Öhlander is expected to illuminate the critical role of government and public agencies like Vinnova in supporting and advancing transformative technologies. He will likely delve into the intricacies of managing innovation programs that span such diverse technologies. He will share insights on the challenges and opportunities of fostering a vibrant, innovative ecosystem that can effectively respond to societal needs and global challenges.
