By IQT News posted 07 Sep 2020

(Utica.utpod) The Innovare Advancement Center in Rome celebrated its grand opening last week.
Originally dubbed the Open Innovation Campus, the $12 million computer technology research center at Griffiss International Airport was first unveiled in August 2019. It was designed to give scientists and companies a place to use quantum information processing to analyze and improve computer technology, among other research areas.
The Innovare Advancement Center was developed through a collaboration between Oneida County, the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Information Directorate, the Griffiss Institute and SUNY Polytechnic Institute.
“Innovare enables a robust high-tech entrepreneurial, R&D, and educational ecosystem for the region and the nation by driving advancements in key strategic areas, including artificial intelligence/machine learning, cybersecurity, unmanned aerial systems, and quantum, with Innovare-connected research taking place at partnering organizations all over the world,” said Michael Hayduk, deputy directorate of the Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate, in a statement.
Te center also kicked off the three-day Million Dollar International Quantum U Tech Accelerator, an event that saw teams pitch their ideas on quantum technology advancement for a chance to win research funding.
