Quantum met AI, and AI met quantum.
Quantum also met crypto, while crypto met quantum.
In case you missed the thought leadership article by Carlos Moreira, CEO of SEALSQ, titled “AI Meets Quantum: Building Unbreakable Post-Quantum Security”:
“As we edge closer to a new era where artificial intelligence and quantum computing converge, I find myself both thrilled and deeply concerned about the implications. At SEALSQ, we’ve dedicated years to advancing semiconductor security, and it’s with this backdrop that I’m honored to deliver the opening keynote at the IQT Quantum + AI Summit in New York City, scheduled for October 19–21, 2025. My talk, ‘AI Meets Quantum: Building Unbreakable Post-Quantum Security,’ will explore this dynamic intersection — an unprecedented opportunity for innovation alongside a profound cryptographic risk that we can’t afford to ignore.”
Hopefully you were able to catch him at Q+AI in New York City earlier this week. It’s not often you see The Quantum Dragon look so serious, but this is cryptographic risk we’re talking about, ladies and gentlemen.

Quantum Software Companies by Software Type
Dr. Bob Sutor published a chart of “over 100 companies developing software for quantum code development and runtime execution.” Since I’ve played with 200+ products, I’m curious what percentage of his list I’ve covered and which, if any, I’ve missed. This link requires a paid subscription, which I obviously recommend.
Quantum Beer Night
Prof. Chris Ferrie was interviewed for the “Wish You Were Beer Show.” I’ve actually said before that I’d like to see more alcohol in quantum, both to make panels a little more confrontational and to boost the honesty of presenters and panelists who are notoriously honesty-challenged. (This is NOT a critique of Prof. Ferrie, by the way.)
Toptica’s Feline Astronaut
Neither the post nor the website specifies it, but I’m guessing that optoelectronic terahertz generation has space applications. Either way, I’m awarding admittedly worthless bonus points for the cat sounding as relaxed as can be. This link might require a LinkedIn account.

Noise-Free Cryogenic Infrastructure in Quantum Hardware
“The performance of quantum and precision measurement systems depends not only on electronic control, but also on the vibrational and thermal conditions at the cryogenic stage. Cryogenic noise remains a limiting factor in scalable quantum architectures.”
“This article presents two engineered approaches that mitigate potential interferences at the 4 K stage and beyond. Recent designs from ColdEdge Technologies, Inc. are gaining popularity for decoupling the challenge of cooling power to mechanical noise, allowing 100% thermal transfer with less than 10 nanometers of displacement at the experimental sample space.”
A Live Conversation With Peter Shor
I’m sure you watched Qblox’s “Webinar | Quantum Foundations to Quantum Futures: A Live Conversation With Peter Shor” already, so I’m including this so you can watch it again. Subscribers to The Premium Quantum Dragon already know that my key takeaway was his vote of confidence in analog Hamiltonian simulation.
What is thy bidding, my master?
Yuval Boger’s insights into Q+AI 2.0 are interesting, although I don’t limit mentoring sessions to early-stage careers or career crossroads. There’s always more to learn from someone, especially in this field: formal education, career paths, entrepreneurship, and more. This link might require a LinkedIn account.

ORNL has a quantum computer cluster…
What’s a “cluster”? Oak Ridge National Laboratory has installed the presumably-first on-premises commercial quantum computer cluster, consisting of 3 quantum dragons… I mean computers… from Quantum Brilliance, and that could mean a few different things. So, I asked for clarification.
I migrated to UnlinkedIn.
My LinkedIn has been largely unavailable all week, so I know I’m missing some content. For example, I really ought to link to Jack Krupansky’s scathing assault on IonQ, but LinkedIn is being thoroughly uncooperative. If it’s cold outside and you need to heat up, the best I can do is link to Mr. Krupansky’s profile.
Zapata AI Job Seekers… only 1 left on this list!
If you were laid off by Zapata AI and would like a free listing in this newsletter, please reach out and let me know. I’ll maintain a list in The Quantum Dragon until everyone on the list has been gainfully employed elsewhere or is otherwise no longer actively job seeking. I might extend this offer to all job seekers, but I’ll start with these layoffs.

Quantum Noise Detector
Alan Ho and Prof. Michael Biercuk inspired the Resuscitated Quantum Bullshit Detector, but the original(?) has resurfaced on Bluesky. It’s back to reposting a simple “bullshit” or “not bullshit,” so The Quantum Dragon will continue to monitor for challenges, controversies, and debates under this new name from Dr. Bob Sutor.
- There’s a little back-and-forth on LinkedIn between the poster Joab Rosenberg, Prof. Michael Biercuk, and Ramon Szmuk about physical-to-logical qubit ratios, logical error rates, and misleading statements about computing power.
