God does not play dice...
By Brian Siegelwax posted 20 Oct 2025

If Mr. Baseball himself Bob Uecker had called it, Einstein would’ve been “just a bit outside” on quantum mechanics. But you know who definitely plays dice? Real Random. The company provides truly random numbers for post-quantum cryptography using non-quantum entropy.

Scientists should tell stories.

The Quantastic Journal is promoting its booth and its webinar at Medium Day 2025, so this article doesn’t actually explain why scientists should tell stories. However, scientists should indeed tell stories, so I’m sharing the headline. This link might require a Medium account.

It’s a pyramid scheme.

I don’t think the International Conference on the Quantum Technology in Egypt actually has anything to do with the pyramids, but it’ll be in Egypt, and that somehow reminds me of Jeff Ross roasting Larry King. I found out about it (the conference, not the roast) through the Africa Quantum Consortium.

1st National RIEX Emerging Technologies Summit 2025

I’ve known Mr. Corpus and Mr. Buenaobra for quite a few years now, but I’ve never met anyone named “Brian Siegelwax” before, so I suspect he’s a made-up character.

When did Rigetti buy IBM Quantum?

I’m including a screenshot in case HitoMatch Foundation edits its post before you’ve had the opportunity to see it because, as you can see, they’re claiming to use IBM hardware through Rigetti’s portal. Shockingly, that’s not the most ridiculous claim in this post. This link might require a LinkedIn account.

New benefits for Dr. Bob Sutor’s paid subscribers?!?!?

I presume that all of my subscribers also subscribe to Dr. Sutor, so I presume you already know the benefits of being at least a free subscriber of his. But if you’re only a free subscriber and you somehow missed this announcement, you’re going to want to check out the benefits of becoming a paid subscriber.

QUANTUM+AI CONFERENCE STARTS 19 OCTOBER; SAVE $300 BY REGISTERING BY 17 OCTOBER

Over 300 attendees are meeting in New York City for the upcoming Q+AI (including Q+Crypto) networking conference starting with a dinner cruise the night of October 19th. 82 speakers will be present representing the latest information about the convergence of quantum computers and artificial intelligence. Register by 17 October in order to save $300 versus the “onsite” registration price. Complete information is available at www.iqtevent.com.

The Weirdest Quantum Software Yet

Zapata Quantum is back from the dead, and its first at-bat is a collaboration with Young Basile on the weirdest “quantum software” I’ve ever seen: a short flowchart about export controls. That’s focus, ladies and gentlemen. Any bets on how soon it’ll start sponsoring racecars again? This link might require a LinkedIn account.

The Fallacy of US Emigration

The narrative in the United States is that the political climate and some high-profile funding cuts are causing a “brain drain.” Generalizations, speculations, proposals, and anecdotes aside, these are the documented facts.

Do you make more than $263,000 per year?

This is definitely not everybody, but it makes my point: there are individuals out there who are claiming to have higher annual incomes than the 12-month revenue of a multi-billion-dollar company, Quantum Computing Inc. This link might require a LinkedIn account.

Zapata AI Job Seekers… only 1 left on this list!

If you were laid off by Zapata AI and would like a free listing in this newsletter, please reach out and let me know. I’ll maintain a list in The Quantum Dragon until everyone on the list has been gainfully employed elsewhere or is otherwise no longer actively job seeking. I might extend this offer to all job seekers, but I’ll start with these layoffs.

Quantum Noise Detector

Alan Ho and Prof. Michael Biercuk inspired the Resuscitated Quantum Bullshit Detector, but the original(?) has resurfaced on Bluesky. It’s back to reposting a simple “bullshit” or “not bullshit,” so The Quantum Dragon will continue to monitor for challenges, controversies, and debates under this new name from Dr. Bob Sutor.

  • I’ve seen multiple tweets claiming that China has commercially deployed a quantum computer. I will not link to such nonsense. Here’s why.
