Infleqtion Achieves New Entanglement Gate Fidelity on its Sqorpius Platform

Infleqtion's Sqorpius program has achieved a high level of entanglement gate fidelity on its quantum computing platform, a new record for Infleqtion.

Infleqtion, a leading player in the neutral atom quantum computing industry, recently achieved a new milestone with its Sqorpius platform by setting an industry record for entangling gate fidelity, which it published in its April newsletter. The company announced that its platform’s Controlled-Z (CZ) gate fidelity reached an impressive 98.8%±0.2%. This result was accomplished using a unique method that involves a lightweight version of 2-qubit gate randomized benchmarking modeled after techniques outlined in recent scientific papers.

The high-fidelity measurement results from Infleqtion’s innovative approach, which utilizes statically positioned, closely spaced atoms paired with tightly focused, individually addressed laser beams to perform the entangling gates. This method improves precision and enhances scalability and efficiency within the platform’s operational framework.

Additionally, Infleqtion employs a non-destructive measurement process that helps identify leakage-type errors. By post-selecting for the absence of these errors, the CZ fidelity measurement was further boosted to 99.5%±0.2%.

This advancement is part of Infleqtion’s ongoing efforts as outlined in their recently announced Sqorpius roadmap. The company aims to achieve a non-post-selected CZ fidelity of 99.5% by the end of the year through a combination of system upgrades and gate protocol improvements. These developments are crucial as they continue to push the boundaries of what is possible with quantum computing technologies.
