“We are trying to scare the daylights out of you…
...to protect yourself and your organizations starting now."
The Quantum Dragon is guilty from time to time of taking the words of his godfather, Dr. Bob Sutor, a little too literally. This LinkedIn post was meant to be a 10-point commentary on recent news involving the revised vulnerability of RSA/ECC cryptosystems, NOT a call-to-action to just start scaring everyone senseless.

Inside Infleqtion’s HQ
This is a long one, 39:44 to be precise, but if you grab yourself a big bucket of popcorn and a soda pop, it’s more interesting than much of what you’ll find on TV or in theaters. In fact, it’s a bit like The Princess Bride in that some giant dude is a big, pun intended, part of the story.

Guess IQT Nordics’s Newest Gold Sponsor
One image. One guess. Who could IQT Nordics’s newest gold sponsor possibly be?
QuEra is hiring an Optical Scientist.
This might be the greatest job ad I’ve ever seen. I’m watching the video clip, waiting and waiting and waiting for something exciting to happen, and I’m honestly not sure if it does. But it’s got me watching it in a loop, trying to find what I’m missing. This link may require a LinkedIn account.
RSA will die.
Sergio Gago started off this week’s Quantum Pirates with multiple literary gems, blending alcohol references (pardon the pun) with metaphors, idioms, personifications, and allusions. For the cocktail umbrella on top, he threw in some hyperbole, imagery, and sarcasm, as well as a little fire.
Step up to the Sqale.
Thanks to Infleqtion’s Dr. Pranav Gokhale, this is the first peek I’ve seen of the Sqale neutral atom quantum computer. This link may require a LinkedIn account.

Rigetti is the next NVIDIA.
Rigetti is not a quantum computing company.
I argued to the contrary. I lost.
Prof. Scott Aaronson and Brian Siegelwax
Notwithstanding that I curate and publish a newsletter myself, the Sutor Group’s “Daily Quantum Update for Tuesday, April 7, 2026” is suddenly my favorite newsletter edition of all time. Under “Newsletters and Blogs” you’ve got only 2 links, one to one of the most qualified people in quantum and one to one of the least.
$15.3B. Everyone cites it. Nobody can verify it.
I disagree with Marin Ivezic of PostQuantum that China will win the quantum race, or anything else for that matter, but this is nevertheless an interesting article on China’s purported government spending. I’ve never believed the number, nor have I understood why others who also don’t believe it have repeated it anyway.
Applauding the Warriors Fighting the Good Fight
If you’re out there fighting the hordes of quantum computing hype, Matthew Evans of IntaPeople has some tips for you. Well, technically, maybe the elbow is the only actual tip. Speaking of which, it’s interesting how many people in the comments think that throwing an elbow is part of boxing. This link may require a LinkedIn account.
Infleqtion actually has revenues.
There’s no one link to share here. Rather, I just scrolled through a smattering of posts expressing shock that a pure-play quantum company actually has revenues. They’re apparently not used to seeing that. I’m not commenting, by the way, on the company’s financials, but rather on the reactions I’m seeing to it.
Conductor Quantum’s Teaser
I get the obligatory bit-vs-qubit introduction (#sigh) and the desire of a software company to focus on its software, but let’s face it: after waiting 5 minutes for it, this video would be far more interesting if it deep dove what was actually going on with the double quantum dots. In other words, more of the article should be in the video.
Bohr’s Beer
Thanks to Dr. Bob Sutor for sharing a link to this VinePair gem. I’m curious how access to free beer affected 30 years of productivity, though. Would he have been more productive had he stayed dry, or should every quantum technology company start the day with Happy Hour at 9 am?
This is too much.
Easter eggs, chocolate bunnies, Q-NEXUS, Q-CHESS, and a surface code that looks like Australia? Where do I begin? Prof. Michael Biercuk of Q-CTRL has managed to overwhelm The Quantum Dragon’s senses with a post about quantum error correction (QEC) of all things. This link may require a LinkedIn account.
Happy birthday, Alice & Bob!
If the industry had a design competition, I dare say Alice & Bob would be hard to beat. Whoever designs this stuff has earned a pay raise in my almost-humble opinion. Let the record show, however, that while Alice & Bob may be only 6 years old, Alice and Bob just recently turned 48. This link may require a LinkedIn account.
