Inside Quantum Technology

What Does a Quantum Conference Do When It Is No Longer Successful as a Stand-alone Event?

I have been an observer of conferences for over 50 years. I have always been a fierce competitor. It has been interesting for me to observe the event called Quantum.Tech compared to my IQT quantum event(s). Quantum.Tech attempted for 7 years to “make it” as a stand-alone event in London, Washington DC, Rotterdam and Boston. The result: failure after failure even though the owners copied every move and embellishment that IQT developed. Quantum.Tech is now part of another tech event that takes place in Boston in late June. This move is essentially the end of our competitor. A cardinal rule of failure: take a stand-alone event and make it part of a larger multi-day event. Such a move is an admission that the event now only exists in name.

It was a good fight, but good-bye Quantum.Tech. And one more thing in terms of the phrase: “Copying is the sincerest form of flattery” — the emasculated Quantum.Tech is having an evening dinner cruise as part of its emasculated existence. Of course, you guessed it, IQT has been offering evening dinner cruises all over the world as part of its quantum events.
