The commercialization of quantum computing in the financial sector has reached a defining inflection point. With the threat of Q-Day (the day a cryptographically relevant quantum computer can break RSA/ECC encryption) drawing closer, top tier international banks have expanded their quantum programs far beyond basic R&D. Driven by aggressive regulatory timelines, national security mandates, and highly public corporate pilots, financial institutions are preparing for both quantum advantage and the impending cryptographic vulnerability known as Q-Day. [1, 2]

BBVA has established itself as an early mover in the financial industry’s shift toward Quantum Finance, adopting a strategic framework that balancing the competitive opportunities of quantum computing with its severe security threats. [1, 2]

Classical architectures can take days to calculate optimal dynamic paths.
