Prof. Jonathan Dowling, Louisiana State University & Co-Director of Hearne Institute for Theoretical Physics Has Agreed to Present “When Will Quantum Supremacy Arrive?” June 1 at Inside Quantum Technology-NYC

(IQTEvent) Dr. Jonathan Dowling, Louisiana State University’s Co-Director for Hearne Institute for Theoretical Physics has agreed to present on the panel “When will quantum supremacy arrive? What will it mean?” on June 1 at 12 pm at the Inside Quantum Technology Event-NYC. Prof. Dr. Jonathan P. Dowling is the Hearne Chair Professor of Theoretical Physics and Co-Director of the Hearne Institute for Theoretical Physics, Department of Physics and Astronomy, Louisiana State University (LSU). Dowling earned his Ph.D. in Mathematical Physics from the University of Colorado, Department of Physics, Boulder, Colorado, in 1988. He then worked as a research physicist for the U.S. Army and NASA for 15 years before joining LSU. In 1995, he founded the U.S. government program in quantum computing and cryptography and has served as an advisor to the government on quantum technology ever since. Dowling has more than two decades of government and academic experience in quantum computing and communications, and he initiated the field of quantum sensing. Dowling is a co-author of the 2003 paper, "Quantum Technology — The Second Quantum Revolution," and the 2013 book Schrödinger’s Killer App — Race to Build the World's First Quantum Computer. His current research focusses on quantum sensors, optical quantum computers, and quantum networks.
