OrangeQS launches MAX Partnership Program to advance quantum chip testing
The program brings OrangeQS together with its partners to ensure that the next generation of test solutions supports evolving quantum chip architectures and production processes. Each partner collaborates independently with OrangeQS, contributing to specific parts of the OrangeQS MAX technology and product roadmaps based on their priorities and level of involvement. This structure allows partners to help shape development while keeping their intellectual property protected.
At its core, the initiative is designed to keep the OrangeQS MAX system future proof and fit for purpose as the industry scales. Planned upgrades focus on improving the speed of cryogenic quantum chip testing, in line with the roadmaps of major manufacturers. Initial development efforts within the program concentrate on parallel testing methods and non destructive approaches, both considered essential for scaling testing capacity.
For participating companies, the program offers several advantages. By sharing performance data and measurement insights, partners can improve comparability and shorten learning cycles. Pooling expertise and infrastructure helps reduce risk and supports the development of scalable testing solutions. In addition, collaboration on standards and interfaces contributes to interoperability and a more resilient quantum value chain.
MAX Partnership Program roadmap, published in March 2026

Garrelt Alberts, Executive Director at OrangeQS, explains:
“OrangeQS MAX already sets new industry benchmarks for high volume, automated quantum chip testing. With our new Partnership Program and support of the EIC Fund, we are set to consolidate our leading position as the sector scales towards commercial production.”
David Rivas, CTO at Rigetti on the MAX partnership program:
“The Partnership Program is a great way for us to tackle a critical system objective for our chiplet-based QPU designs: faster, non-destructive, scalable quantum chip testing. We have experienced first hand the amount of time and resources required for functional quantum chiplet testing. As we evolve our approach, we look forward to the non-destructive testing methods developed in the OrangeQS MAX Partnership Program.”
About OrangeQS
OrangeQS is a leading provider of solutions for testing quantum chip performance. Headquartered in Delft, OrangeQS specializes in developing reliable, scalable, and efficient test equipment and protocols that provide clear and transparent insights into quantum chip performance.
The quantum chip testing process requires significant developer time and expertise, creating a bottleneck across the industry. The mission of OrangeQS is to remove that barrier by building test solutions that help their customers develop better quantum chips.
The easy‑to‑use solutions by OrangeQS combine proprietary testing protocols, a carefully designed control stack and cryogenic sample environment, enabling fast and reliable testing throughout the quantum chip development process.
Testing solutions for research and production
The OrangeQS product portfolio is built around three solutions.
OrangeQS MAX is a turnkey system designed for high throughput quantum chip testing. Its architecture combines automation with validated protocols to minimize test time per qubit. Because it is purpose built for testing rather than computation, The OrangeQS MAX offers a lower cost per tested qubit compared to using quantum computers for similar tasks.
OrangeQS FLEX provides a modular framework for building and scaling a quantum chip testing environment. The system consists of configurable building blocks that integrate with existing lab infrastructure and adapt to changing research needs. A key element is the FLEX configurator, which allows users to design and tailor a quantum chip testing lab setup based on their requirements. This approach helps research teams assemble compatible systems more efficiently and are expandable over time.
OrangeQS Juice is an open-source operating system that supports quantum research and production workflows. It brings experiment control, system monitoring, and data management into one environment, accessible across multiple setups and users. Around Juice, OrangeQS is building a growing community where users can access updates, share extensions, and exchange knowledge. This open approach enables custom development while maintaining a consistent software foundation across labs.
In addition, OrangeQS offers Quantum Care services, providing support in system integration, setup design and testing as a service.
