Japan’s Government to Earmark Funds in 2019 for Quantum Computing

(AsiaNikkei) Japan has joined the quantum computing fray by enlisting the help of the private sector. Japan’s government will earmark funds to build quantum-encrypted communications systems in a supplementary budget for fiscal 2019. The first move will be to set up and test a framework for sending critical national-security information by such agencies as the Ministry of Defense and National Police Agency.
