Traditional reporting brought to you by the most trusted dragon in the world, IQT Sunday Edition delivers a straightforward, authoritative summary of national and international mainstream media coverage of quantum technologies.
CNBC The Tech Download
“BlackBerry found a second life in car software. Now it’s looking to robotics” includes CNBC’s Arjun Kharpal asking BlackBerry CEO John Giamatteo a specific question (starting at 22:19) about the threat of cryptographically relevant quantum computers. The response does NOT specifically mention post-quantum cryptography (PQC). To the contrary, Mr. Giamatteo seems quite confident in Blackberry’s current “unhackable” encryption. Quantum is apparently only a trend worth watching.

“The Dream of Quantum Computing Is Both Dead and Alive” is paywalled, but we know that it includes an interview with IQM CEO Dr. Jan Goetz.
The Wall Street Journal Technology: Cybersecurity
“Why Quantum Computing Is a Threat to Cybersecurity” is paywalled, but we know that it at least superficially mentions the mathematical problem underlying current public-key cryptography. The Wall Street Journal Newsletters: Cybersecurity’s “Where the Quantum Threat Stands” links to this article.
Reuters
“US roadmap targets fusion deployment by mid 2030s” reports that quantum technologies are being eyed to advance the deployment of fusion technologies.
Financial Times US Politics & Policy
“Boss of Trump Jr-backed start-up donated to Republicans after winning US contract” mentions photonic quantum computer builder PsiQuantum among its accusations.
Reuters
“Pasqal shares leap as French quantum firm makes Nasdaq debut” starts off generically, but eventually makes points about Pasqal’s funding, technology, revenue, neutral atom quantum computer deployments, and production capabilities.
Reuters
“Canada to loan quantum startup Xanadu $140 million to build manufacturing plant” is for “photonic components for quantum computers,” is interesting because I’ve spoken with folks over at Xanadu, and they had no interest in selling components. The article does not specifically state that revenues will come from components, even though the inference could be drawn from the language. The Wall Street Journal Business’s “Tech, Media & Telecom Roundup: Market Talk” is paywalled, but we know that it is also about this story.
Bloomberg Technology
“Quantum Firm Pasqal Shares Jump 95% in Debut Via SPAC Merger” is paywalled, but we can see that it notes that Pasqal’s debut outperformed other recent debutants.
Reuters
“Anthropic unveils new framework allowing AI agents to operate physical devices” reports that “laser calibration on a quantum computer” is a target application.
Financial Times Artificial Intelligence
“Anthropic launches AI tool that can conduct scientific experiments” lists neutral atom quantum computer builder QuEra as one of the labs and hardware manufacturers that is testing its technology.
Barron’s Technology | Street Notes
“This Quantum Stock Has a $32 Price Target and an Inkjet Past. Its Growth Surge May Be an Illusion.” is paywalled, but we can see that it attributes a recent bullish call on Quantum Computing Inc.’s (QCi) stock more toward broad sector optimism than to company-specific fundamentals. Realistically, that can be said about most quantum technology companies, though.
Bloomberg Newsletter | Money Distilled
“What Would Quantum Computing Mean for Markets?” is paywalled, which is interesting because the audio of Merryn Talks Money’s interview with EdenBase’s Daniel Doll-Steinberg is not paywalled. Curiously, I wrote “Honestly, I would need a transcript to figure this one out.” in last week’s IQT Sunday Edition, and here’s a paywalled recap.
Bloomberg The Pulse
“Will Burnham Improve London’s Appeal to Investors?” is a 6:48 video featuring Bloomberg’s Lizzy Burden interviewing Capnor Special Advisor to the CEO, Rajaa Mekouar. They briefly mention quantum computing near the beginning, but then they segue into how to attract capital to the UK.
Barron’s Feature
“This Quantum Stock Is Surging 40% in Its Trading Debut. Meet Pasqal.” is paywalled but, despite the title of the article, is showing PSQL +95.20% as I’m writing this.
And that’s the way it is, Sunday, August 30, 2026.
