Infleqtion Leads a Critical Conversation Addressing the Quantum Scale-Up Challenge in the 2023 Quantum Technologies Forum

On Wednesday, April 5, Infleqtion, the global quantum ecosystem leader, led a valuable and timely discussion about the challenges and solutions for scaling commercially-viable quantum technologies during the 2023 Quantum Technologies Forum organized by the ExecutiveBiz network.  To accurately convey the landscape of this developing technology, the 2023 Quantum Technologies Forum’s panel was comprised of thought leaders, government officials, and industry.

Panelists included several big names, such as Dr. Adam T. Black, Head of the Quantum Optics Section in the Optical Sciences Division at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory; Lloyd Dabbs, Director of Public Sector Business Development for SandboxAQ; Retired Major General Cameron Holt, President and Founder of Holt Consulting Group LLC.; Jay Lowell, Principal Senior Technical Fellow at Boeing and Chief Engineer for Boeing Disruptive Computing & Networks; Dawn C. Meyerriecks, Former Deputy Director For Science & Technology, Central Intelligence Agency (CIA); and Dr. Charles Wessner, Senior Adviser (Non-Resident) of the Renewing American Innovation Project, Center For Strategic And International Studies (CSIS). The panel was moderated by Chester Kennedy, the Executive Advisor for Infleqtion while Sha-Chelle Manning, Chief of Commercial Strategy for the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA), gave the keynote address. “Given the importance of quantum technology to our national security and our position in the global economy, we assembled a group of top experts that could help a diverse audience understand how the applications of quantum technology cover a lot more than quantum computing as well as explain the importance of taking decisive action, now, to scale our ability to domestically manufacture key components that are necessary to turn technology into real-world applications,” explained Kennedy.

While discussions within the 2023 Quantum Technologies Forum fluctuated from quantum devices to the future of national security and relevant implications, listeners undoubtedly walked away realizing that quantum is a lot more than quantum computing – in fact, quantum sensors and quantum atomic clocks are being deployed today. As Infleqtion is currently developing some of the leading quantum sensors and atomic clocks in the industry, their voice was especially valuable to giving insights for this discussion.

Other topics focused on the domestic production of quantum computers and devices, specifically for scaling up the workforce. Quite a few of the panelists focused on leadership within the quantum ecosystem as a way to inspire more talent within the industry. Others elaborated on the importance of partnerships and alliances between organizations to help scale up the workforce, and this next-generation technology.

With such integral leaders in a discussion about the future of various quantum technologies, the 2023 Quantum Technologies Forum created waves, inspiring others within the quantum ecosystem to continue these conversations.
